At its heart, a walk-in cloud of breathable cocktail – the world’s first alcoholic weather system for your tongue – presented as an installation that explodes drinks to the scale of architecture.
Located on the site of a former monastery and next to London’s oldest Gothic cathedral, our cloud is presented as part of a journey that pays tribute to monks and other religious orders that have been responsible for creating iconic liquors over the centuries. Our cocktail list is entirely comprised of spirits and beers created by monks: potations such as Chartreuse, Benedictine, Champagne, Trappist beers and even the notorious Buckfast – a fortified wine so savage that some Scottish politicians are calling for a ban of the caffeinated intoxicant.
Bompas & Parr is an experience design studio based in London. Founded in 2007 the studio leads in flavour-based experience design, culinary research, architectural installations and contemporary food design. The team works to experiment, develop, produce and install projects, artworks, jellies and exhibitions. In the past it has designed a taste experience for the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, created the world’s first flavour fireworks for 250,000 people at London’s NYE and built a chocolate climbing wall at Alton Towers.
